The text on pages two and three are sections taken from the Ofsted report January 2008.
Staff are well informed and knowledgeable in their implementation of the Foundation Stage curriculum. They plan a varied and balanced range of activities and this is well supported with a very good range of equipment and resources
Children are very confident and motivated learners. They concentrate well at their chosen play and eagerly take part in all the activities. They are developing good independence skills as they help with pouring drinks and distributing the food for snack time when chosen as helper of the day. Children develop good language skills as they take part in conversations and discussions, such as at circle time.
Children have very good opportunities to practise their early writing skills by mark making both indoors and outdoors. Staff encourage the children to attempt to write their name on their art work and older and more able children do so with confidence using well formed letters to spell out their name.
The dice game develops their counting and concept of numbers ... As a result, children confidently count and use mathematical language as they play and learn.
They learn about nature and living things and benefit from the lovely garden area. They plant bulbs and seeds, tend them and watch them grow.
They love music and have regular dance and movement sessions. This is made all the more fun as they use the musical instruments and experiment with the variety of sounds.
There is a lovely happy and friendly atmosphere and children enjoy the warm and caring relationships with the staff. Children are very well behaved and know their efforts are recognised and valued in a positive way.
Staff work closely with the parents and relationships are open, trusting, friendly and professional. .. parents were extremely positive with regards to the quality of care and education their children receive. They were particularly complimentary about the friendly and approachable staff.
